Intarsio by Cesar is bold, rigorous and metropolitan

January 1, 2020 By Cesar NYC

Intarsio
It is deviating from the rules that makes the biggest impression. I love symmetry but not convention. I look for the original that inspired the repetition. Those who put their trust in tradition know that to innovate, sometimes, it is simply necessary to change the point of view. They create new proportions that give rise to new sensations. And in this, we discover a different kind of beauty each time.

Geometric
If beauty is authentic, then it creates ripples. It runs from one place to the next, creating complex associations. It has countless sides. It is always the same, always different.

Bold
Contrasts do not scare me, because they are usually only superficial. Tender feelings and stiff coolness, seriousness and smiles. They are all in us, the many facets of just one personality.

Open minded
The most wonderful minutes of the day are those unexpected moments. I never fully plan my day. Instead, I set the right conditions to make things happen and then go with the flow.

García Cumini
García Cumini was born out of the meeting of two cultures – Italian and Spanish, where creativity, beauty and joie de vivre are fundamental values. The company was launched in 2012 combining the experiences of Vicente García Jiménez and Cinzia Cumini. Two complementary personalities, at work and in life, the two designers have built their philosophy on the concept of Slow Design. They have a holistic approach to design, devoting time and energy to careful research and analysis. They take time to understand the lifestyle of clients who will be using their products and analyze for technical innovations and production processes in order to fully understand and exploit their potential. The result are shapes and objects designed to last, preserving the balance between emotion and function, art and technology, intuition and careful design.

What To Consider When Selecting Kitchen Cabinet Materials

February 6, 2019 By Cesar NYC

For many people, the kitchen is the heart of a home. Not only is it where all of the meals are being prepared, it is also a place for family time and self-expression through food. And a kitchen should be a reflection of the people who spend time in it, right? Right. So, if you want to build a kitchen that’s uniquely you, here are a few things to consider when selecting materials and finishes for your kitchen cabinets.

Selection Of Kitchen Materials

When we take our clients through the kitchen design process, we show them a variety of different kitchen materials and finishes. Based on their expectations, desires and responses to these material samples, we can then derive one, or a selection of kitchen materials that are suitable for our client’s dream kitchen. At Cesar NYC Kitchens, we offer a variety of kitchen materials, each of which come in different color and finish options. Our most popular kitchen materials are wood, glass, lacquer, Fenix laminate, stainless-steel, cement and eco-gloss.

Grain Of Kitchen Materials

No matter the wood you choose for your kitchen cabinets, it is important that you consider the grain. Not only will it determine the texture of your cabinetry, it will also provide the “look” for a modern kitchen design. If you are going for a more rustic style, maybe you will want a slightly rougher grain. For European kitchen designs, you may want a sleeker material with a finer grain. In those cases, veneered kitchen cabinets are likely to provide much better grain matching than traditional wood cabinets.

Color Of Kitchen Cabinets

Above all else, the color chosen for your kitchen cabinetry is indicative of a kitchen’s style. For lighter cabinets, you might want to select a wood like pine, hickory, or ash kitchen material. But fortunately, you are not married to a single color for the entirety of your life in a home. And, it is up to you and your taste if you choose one or more dominant colors for your kitchen space versus more subtle, neutral colors and designs. A recent survey revealed that 42% of people actually prefer white cabinets in their kitchens, but as previously mentioned, a kitchen should be uniquely you. Wood stains and even paints can completely change the look of a kitchen if you are in need of an update. One of the best woods for staining is birch, as it can actually replicate a beautiful cherry or maple appearance when stained correctly. The vast majority of kitchen designers may recommend this option because of its versatility.

Construction And Material Planning

The way your modern kitchen cabinets are built will have a decent effect on their appearance. For example, wooden kitchen cabinet drawers can be created using dowels, rabbets, or dovetails. Those kitchen cabinets constructed with dovetails will require more wood to create but may ultimately be more durable. If longevity is something that matters to you in kitchen design, it is important that you take construction aspects into the mix. Whether you are in need of new kitchen cabinets or an entirely new kitchen, don’t forget to take these things into consideration when you are selecting the right building materials. If any of your design questions are still unanswered, feel free to contact us any time with your kitchen inquiry.
